The HR Operations Specialist – LATAM, based in our Mexico City office, is primarily responsible for delivering compliant and efficient HR operational support for teammates in Panama, while also providing support across Mexico and Chile throughout the teammate lifecycle. Serving as a trusted first point of contact for teammates, managers, vendors, and external stakeholders, this role ensures the accurate administration of HR processes, payroll inputs, benefits, employee data, and regulatory requirements.
This person partners closely with regional HR teams, payroll providers, business leaders, and external agencies to maintain data integrity, support business operations, and ensure compliance with local labor laws and company policies. This role plays a critical part in delivering a seamless teammate experience by managing HR administration, supporting payroll processes, maintaining accurate records, and driving continuous improvement through standardized, efficient, and scalable HR practices across the region.
Your Impact
Serve as the first point of contact for HR-related inquiries from employees, vendors, and external authorities (e.g., government, banking institutions).
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local labor laws, regulatory requirements.
Manage country-specific compliance requirements and respond to local authority requests.
Ensure timely and accurate system entry of new hires to guarantee access, payroll readiness, and compliance.
Coordinate onboarding documentation with employees and hiring managers.
Conduct regular audits to ensure data accuracy and identify process improvement opportunities.
Maintain accurate and compliant personnel files, ensuring proper documentation and audit readiness.
Administer employee benefits (e.g., pensions, meal cards, company doctor processes, vehicle programs, etc.).
Ensure accurate data flow between HRIS and payroll systems.
Process terminations in all relevant systems and ensure proper documentation.
Coordinate with payroll providers to ensure accurate and timely final termination payments.
Own payroll input, including data extraction from Time & Attendance systems payroll incident management and submission, including bonuses, government-mandated payments, and other payroll-related earnings and deductions.
Partner closely with payroll team to ensure timely and accurate salary processing.
Execute administrative processes such as PTO tracking, employment verifications, and HR communications.
Continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and data quality.
Ensure all HR processes are well-documented, standardized, and consistently applied.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with typically 2 years of work experience in administrative function; or in-progress University Degree with 2 years of HR experience.
Business fluency in Spanish and English
Communicates well both verbally and in writing with team members of all levels across the organization; maintains a level of confidentiality regarding sensitive information; freely shares ideas with others; actively listens to ensure clear understanding and translates direction into action
Maintains a keen eye for detail; demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness
Challenges ideas and processes in a positive manner; consistently looking for ways to improve and promote the quality of HR’s data and processes
Responds promptly to customer needs; solicits customer feedback to improve service; meets commitments
Identifies and elevates issues in a timely manner; bring forth suggestions for possible resolution

Strong organizational skills, and ability to effectively disseminate information in a clear and concise manner.
